Part one of pulling a 2004 Subaru WRX engine using a Haynes Shop Manual

In this video, Gavin and I start working on the 2004 Subaru WRX. This is Gavin’s first-ever experience working on any type of car, so the process is a little slow, but that’s ok. After teaching him the importance of cleaning an engine bay, I then spend a lot of time teaching him what tools to use and how to use them.

By the end of the video, Gavin gets the engine pretty much ready to pull. Lucky for him, we have the Haynes Shop Manual for our Subaru, and we used a few videos from YouTube.

In our next video, we should be able to pull the engine out and decide on rebuilding the heads or finding another engine to swap in its place.
