It's Chad from Midlife Classic Cars, back with an electrifying update from the world of RC racing. Our destination? The famous Turn and Burn. Although I had grand plans to shower you with some stunning drone visuals, a little snafu with a propeller meant those scenes stayed in my imagination! However, every cloud has a silver lining, and thanks to the generous Jason and young Philip (who just celebrated his 10th birthday 🎉), we've got some swooping drone shots for your viewing pleasure.
The Turn and Burn track has undergone a major upgrade. It's larger, more challenging, but still as exhilarating as ever. Every time I race, I cross paths with our good friend from Sky Basher R/C, who's an incredible wealth of knowledge and support. Speaking of which, if you haven’t visited his YouTube channel, you're missing out - find him here.
One of the aspects of RC racing I genuinely enjoy is delving into people's setups. Each racer has a unique touch, from the array of cars to the layout of their pits. It's like peeping into a racer's personality! I got a chance to showcase my setup, but there's always room for improvement.
Racing is not just about speed; it's also about the tinkering. I had a minor setback when I broke an axle during practice but managed to bounce back, thanks to the amazing RC community around me. Now, I'm looking forward to switching from my Traxxas Slash to something a bit more nimble – perhaps a buggy. If you’ve got recommendations, drop them in the comments!
Lastly, for all you automobile aficionados, don't forget that Midlife Classic Cars is your go-to destination for automotive books and shop manuals. Oh, and have you seen our shirts? They sport the perfect slogan for our tribe: "One foot in the grave, one foot on the throttle."
Till our next race, keep those engines revved and spirits high!
